Louisville in Top 11 Best Cities for First-Time Homebuyers

Any time Louisville receives national attention it makes me happy. Is it due to its great real estate conditions? That makes me ecstatic!

Top 11 Cities for First Time Homebuyers
As you might expect, the best values in real estate are in America’s heartland. Louisville ranks among the best cities for first-time homebuyers with great real estate opportunities.

Just read this article called The Best Cities for First-Time Homebuyers and saw Louisville coming in 9th in the nation, which is amazing!

Rather than a great deal of click bait I see, the folks at SmartAsset actually put some thought into this piece—including the reason why things have been more difficult for first-time homebuyers in the year 2016 than they were before the housing recession.

Here’s what the article had to say about our fair city.

9. Louisville, Kentucky

Located along the Indiana-Kentucky border, Louisville is the economic and cultural capital of the Bluegrass State. It ranks as a top ten city for first-time homebuyers for the second year in a row. It is also a good destination for young people who are interested in starting a business, as it has some of the country’s lowest business startup costs.

Not bad… not bad at all.

The data for this report came from the HUD and only cities of 300,000 population or higher were considered. By taking into account things like market volatility, home affordability, and value per square foot, the findings put Louisville, Kentucky near the top of the list. Having covered our market for a decade, I can safely say I’m not surprised.

Unlike the West Coast or the Northeast, the Louisville market is quite stable and affordable and with interest rates still historically low, it’s no wonder home sales have been breaking records.

If any first-time home buyers are looking for a great Louisville Realtor, I might know a guy. *wink*
