LHB Brain Teaser #1
Posted by Tre Pryor, Editor-in-Chief on April 04, 2010 in News tagged with StarbucksLife is too short to be all work and no play. How about a game? Here’s the first ever Louisville Homes Blog Brain Teaser!
I was talking with one of my clients yesterday. I’ll give you a hint, he’s a home buyer. After we finished looking at several homes, I driving back to my office thinking about what we had talked about.
Once back, I started to do some research on the Louisville real estate market to see how close my estimates were to reality. I was frankly shocked at the results!
Your challenge is to describe the nature of the pie chart below. First person to post the correct answer in the comments below wins! Remember, we’re talking about something that’s related to real estate here in Louisville, KY.
What do you win? How about a $10 Gift Card to Starbucks? (Just another excuse for me to get more great coffee.)
Update 4/25: Added a few little hints for you. Still no winner!
Update 4/29: Added all the info to the graphic.

If there’s no correct answer by tomorrow, I’ll repost the chart with some clues but the Gift Card drops to $5. One guess per person. Have fun!

Does this chart represent the percentage of home sales by month for last year in Louisville?
Close Paul but not quite on the date. The range goes back to 1994.
What I found interesting is that while more homes are sold during the late Spring and especially Summer months, the increase isn’t as dramatic as I had thought.
Yeah, I noticed that the pie pieces are strikingly similar, which is why I thought I was probably wrong.
Well, it would have been a miracle to guess 1994 exactly. Guess I’m not getting free starbucks
Tell you what I’ll do Paul, give me a call @ 291-7406 and I’ll meet you at a Starbucks and give you the Giftcard anyway. I like a guy who takes risks. 8^)
The answer I was looking for was something like, Historical Homes Sales by Month here in Louisville.
Still looking for you Paul. Thought you wanted some free coffee?
Does this chart indicate the number of potential customers who have been approached?
