Find these fun and colorful birdies at Dandelion.

It’s that time of the year again—decorating, parties, and gifts! Fortunately our fair city has great local shops waiting to help. Don’t worry, there’s still 12 shopping days until Christmas!

I love the animal-motif decorations at Dandelion, 3729 Lexington Rd (Vogue Center). These cute birds brighten up any tree, wreath or garland. There are also owls, penguins, and rabbits. Dandelion also has luscious scented candles and cute holiday-boxed matches that make a perfect hostess gift for any holiday event.

The fleur de lis reigns at Mary Katherine’s & Me.

When you’re done there head over to Mary Katherine’s & Me, 401 Wallace Ave. Louisville’s beloved fleur de lis symbol is on everything imaginable, from candle holders to jewelry. If you’re hosting a party, there are fun holiday aprons, kitchen towels and festive serving pieces and paper products.

Vintage is hot at Hudson Home.

For furniture and accessories for any time, as well as decorating and gift ideas, stop by Hudson Home, 806 E. Market St. The vintage ornaments are a real find. In addition to being colorful, they’re great conversation pieces. The luxury bath products like soaps, lotions and bath salts make a great last minute gift idea too.

Hope these ideas help make your holidays less stressful and more fun, and you’ll appreciate knowing that you’re helping support our unique local Louisville businesses, too. And if all this shopping makes you hungry, all of these stores are located near great local restaurants like Blooms Cafe, Coals Artisan Pizza and Please & Thank You Coffee/Deli!
