Sell Someone Else’s House? Get Sent to the Big House

Marilyn Rainey attempted to sell the house at 2411 Longest Avenue. To say “attempted” is only partially right as she completed the purchase agreement with a buyer for $294,567.

Of course, the house wasn’t hers to sell and she’ll likely go to jail. While humorous, this underscores the importance of title insurance. In our increasingly deceptive society, insurance for more and more types of practices or possessions is becoming mandatory. That and a good real estate agent.

Update: Looks like they’ve done this kind of thing before.
